Where responsibility matters
As the global leader in performance-driven learning, we’re a leader in responsible business too. We do this through bold environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets and transparent ESG performance reporting.

Our sustainability strategy
For us, educational performance and ESG performance go hand-in-hand. Which is why we have created clear plans for environmental, social and governance (ESG) improvements in every area of our organisation.
When it comes to governance, we do business with suppliers that share similar values. By applying high standards across our supply chain, we will have a bigger impact than acting alone.
Our social responsibility is not just about our successes in building a diverse and inclusive culture. It’s about taking action outside our walls and making a difference in our learning communities.
Environmental sustainability is central to our ESG strategy. This is why we have set ourselves rigorous targets for the coming years. Our scope 1 and 2 emissions reductions include the transition to green renewable energy across our managed portfolio. Looking further ahead, our plan for scope 3 emissions reductions includes the formalising of carbon analysis into all our major procurement projects and embedding sustainability into supplier contracts.
How we’re delivering

Environmental
The entire Lyceum Education Group will achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 or sooner. Following our strategic goals, we’ll hit our interim scope 1 and 2 target of 40% by 2030. And we’ve already set a further scope 3 target to maintain momentum.
Social
Lyceum Education Group takes a future-focused performance and career development approach. All our employees can take a qualification free of charge as part of our commitment. For our students, we recognise the financial barriers they can face and offer over £1.5 million in scholarships globally.
Governance
We know that responsible business means taking responsibility for your supply chain. That's why we centralise procurement where we can to exercise more control and incentivise our suppliers to improve their practices. We ask for transparency from the businesses we work with, so we can report on how they follow their environmental and purchasing policies to maximise value for minimal waste.Going further
We want to keep pushing forward. As well as achieving common goals for environmental, social and governance improvements, we’ve also launched our own initiatives. Our Volunteering Scheme enables our people to give back to their communities. Our partnership with Leadership Through Sport & Business offers their participants access to free learning courses. And our long-established Social Impact team provides legal assistance to people in need.
Past initiatives delivered £349,864 of community value in 2023/24 through advice provision to small businesses and local groups.
We already produce a range of tailored courses on ESG for anyone in our Group. Covering the entire spectrum of ESG, we focus on everything from an overall introduction to the topic to statutory reporting and sustainable investment opportunities.
We are also evaluating our taught programmes for more opportunities to introduce ESG topics into education to encourage action across a wider audience.
